THIS WEEK’S WORD:    ~ POWER~

SENTENCE TO BEAT:     He sought the power of wind, of tide, of sun . . . but he forgot to look for the power of love; I slipped it into my pocket and slid into the back hall.

  1. The difference between power and Power is seductively hidden in the difference between arms molded by a rope and bucket and fingers curled around a faucet, which is to say that the result is the same: water for laundry, water to cook, water from the ground, but that the method belies the privilege: Power is more time to play with the kids afterward, to watch the football game, to give a dream more than a wayward thought after a day of developed labor.

  2. Knowing full well the power in even simple words, he spoke none.
